Dr. Stacy Hawthorne is the Chief Academic Officer for Learn21. In this role, she leads the professional learning department and is responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution of instructional technology goals for the organization. She previously worked for Clarity Innovations where she oversaw the Creative Services team who delivers educational resources to some of the biggest names in edtech. She spent five years as the Director of Online Learning of the Davidson Academy Online, overseeing both its academic and institutional operations. Prior to that, she worked on the industry side of education, serving as a consultant to school districts and other organizations about developing and implementing blended learning programs. Her roots are in the classroom with a passion for educational technology.She has been a regular presenter at industry events, including CoSN Conference, ISTE, Live, Digital Learning Annual Conference (DLAC), and Blackboard World. Stacy is actively involved in education technology, serving on CoSN's Driving K-12 Innovation Advisory Board and Emerging Technologies and Digital Equity Committees and as an ISTE Community Leader. She also serves on The Online Learning Journal's Editorial Review Board, NAGC’s Teaching for High Potential Editorial Advisory Committee, and contributes on important topics in edtech for EdCircuit.Stacy has a Doctorate in Educational Technology from Boise State University, a Masters in Educational Administration from Ashland University, and Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. She is also a CoSN Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) and has teaching and school administration licenses in Nevada. She was also recognized with a 2023 CoSN Impact 30 Award.
