Sean has 30 years of experience in education and the education technology industry. His career has focused on integrating best practices of technology to support teaching and learning. Prior to joining NYSCATE , the Sean was the National Educational Technology Consultant for Edmentum, makers of PLATO Learning and Study Island. In this role, he provided insight and analysis to customers and company team members on a variety of topics including state and federal policy, funding initiatives, data interoperability, and advancing personalized learning with effective technology solutions. Sean is a former educator, technology director, policy specialist and former Chief Technology Officer at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, an educational service agency near Pittsburgh, PA. He also led the Bureau of Educational Technology at the Pennsylvania Department of Education as Acting Director and served as a member of SETDA while at PDE. Sean serves as the affiliate representative on the SETDA board. He is the Past President of the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT), the ISTE/CoSN affiliate in Pennsylvania and served on the CoSN Board of Directors from 2009-2012.
